Edwin Houston

My name is Edwin Houston, born and raised in Dublin, Ireland. It is in Ireland where I was taught by the old masters the art of Faux finishes. I have over 35 years of experience in this field, and my work has been featured in Homes and Gardens and Architectural Digest. In fact the work that was featured in the above named magazines, was of the work that I did for Author Robin Cook in his Boston home for over a year, where I did many finishes including 23k gold leaf on mirror frames, also wall glazes to Faux Boise and many types of Faux marble.

Many of my finishes include Rag Glazing; Sponging; Texture and Glaze/Old World Finishes; Stippling; Tissue Paper; Faux Boise; Faux Marble; Gold Leaf; and Tromp L’Oeil.

My passion is in the arts of Faux finishes and I strive for excellence in all aspects of these arts. I have also worked in some of the designer homes for the Florida Orchestra Guild which was also featured in the Tampa Tribune.
